Congratulations to the girls of MVAA Cheerleaders from Middletown Maryland. They won first place in their division at this past weekend’s Cheerleading competition. This was their second year staying at the Castle and they won first place last year also. They plan to return for 2011 for more of that good luck from the Castle!

Also with us last weekend was our annual group Creative Memories from Millsboro Delaware. These talented ladies spend a weekend enjoying Castle hospitality and preserving family memories in beautiful scrapbooks.  We look forward to seeing them again!

This weekend we’re pleased to welcome contestants and their families for the Junior Miss Beauty Pageant for girls 2 years and older. Good luck little ladies!

If you’re coming into town for an event or would like to make arrangements for a group, please contact Patricia in group sales (

Also opening this weekend is the Beach House Restaurant, serving buffet and a la carte. Stop on by for a hearty breakfast!

Temperatures hit a welcomed high today of 48! The forecast calls for more snow but we’re hoping we’ll be lucky enough that it just rains here. Let’s take a vote of who’s for employing that groundhog that announced 6 more weeks of winter at Trimper’s in their wack-a-mole game machine!

Cross your fingers for the sun to reappear for our opening weekend! Rates are low so book your reservations now! The Beach House Restaurant will open for breakfast March 5, beautiful new menus arrived today! Stop by and see us!

It’s a beautiful day in OC and the sunshine is finally starting to melt some of the leftovers from snowmaggedon. I overheard the surf report on my way in this morning and today the ocean is an icy (but above freezing) 37 degrees!

Our Castle Community is taking advantage of this day and continuing to make improvements on property and gearing up for this summer season. We’re looking forward to tonights monthly OC Hotel Motel Restaurant Association dinner meeting where we work together to make sure every OC visitor enjoys their time here on the island.

If you have a moment, check out our surfcam to see the progress of the new patio work around Coconuts and don’t forget to tune in tomorrow on our Facebook Fan Page for your chance to win some fan gear!

Thanks for stopping by!

In lieu of beach service, the Castle will now be offering Cross-Country skiing…just kidding!

We apologize if you were trying to make reservations yesterday afternoon, the 50 mph blizzard winds blew us on home around 1 pm. Check out the above picture taken from the car of our white out conditions. Schools here have been closed until further notice and we’re left wondering if our annual HS graduate June bugs will be very grumpy July bugs this year? Haha!

If you’re suffering from Cabin Fever, come into town this weekend for our Annual Seaside Boat Show if you have any interest in buying a boat, buying a boatslip, renting a boatslip, or jetski accomodations this is the weekend to inquire. The Roland E. Powell Convention Center is nearly across the street from us here at the Castle.

Our reservation lines are open to reserve YOUR week of WARM weather!

9-Feb 2010

CastleChatter says:

The only thing chattering around here today is our teeth! Temperatures in OC remain below freezing as the atmosphere continues to dump more snow on the beach town.  Locals are beginning to think there are more snowflakes than grains of sand! Here at the Castle, we brought in a Bobcat to remove snow from our parking lots so our employees can continue to take reservation calls from our loyal guests. As renovations are made and Coconuts entertainment schedule is finalized, we’re focused on making summer of 2010 best ever, and hoping for warm weather soon!
